View on LinkedInI walked into Salesforce's Agentforce World Tour with questions. I left with certainty that the way we work today is finished — not eventually, but now.
What they showed
Commerce, Marketing, Service — every Salesforce platform with an Agentforce layer on top. Across campgrounds, sessions, demos, and workshops, they showed agents handling customer service, automating expense reports, supporting teams in daily operations. Already powerful.
But the moment that changed everything was MCP integrations — agents accessible directly from Slack and connected to external tools like Claude, Codex, Cursor, or any other LLM.
At that point I wasn't following the presentation anymore. I was already designing.
Is the platform ready?
I went to talk with Salesforce Principal Solution Engineers to understand if the platform was mature enough for what I had in mind. The answer was yes.
Automate e-commerce teams' manual work directly on the Salesforce ecosystem. Configure agents once, connect them to your systems, and gain new allies that work for you.
A concrete example
You open Slack and see you need to create a promotion. Customer group, campaign, promotion, source code — normally an hour of work, testing included.
With an MCP-connected agent, you open Slackbot and write: configure this promotion with these conditions and schedule it. Done.
Not 80% manual work and 20% testing. Exactly the opposite.
Same applies to emails, products, sorting, banners, frontend and backend code — any e-commerce operation.
In the coming years, people with cross-functional skills who master AI will have a massive competitive advantage. That's not a prediction. It's already happening.
Takeaway
Agentforce isn't another AI feature bolted onto Salesforce. With MCP, it becomes the orchestration layer that connects your commerce stack to the LLMs and tools you already use — Slack as the interface, agents as the execution layer.
The teams that configure this now won't be catching up later. They'll be operating on a different clock.
